The CP1 Batwing board is compared to traditional Flat Rectangular boards in Australian prawn trawling gear. The work was carried out during 2005 by Sterling Trawl Gear Services with financial assistance from the Australian Government through the Fisheries Research and Development Coorporation.

  • @Mr12ftm - Batwings particularly suit triple rig because they can spread the gear hard without the angle of attack getting too high. Please check out the videos for the new CP2 Batwing. Compared to flat boards the Batwing has about 60% less board drag. Kilfoils suit lower spread ratio, <75%, and higher trawl speed (ie quad rig). Batwings should be better than kilfoils in this application (about 35% less board drag).

  • Hi there,

Do you have this kind of board for tripple gear? and how much more efficent is it compared to kill foils?
