It is beautiful, if I were I cat that is where I would be ... we had one for our cats growing up too! It was everyone's favorite place to be :)

Get screening that's made for coyote and deer protection. Not chicken wire. One of my cats got a bird today. Fortunately I was able to chase the cat away from the bird and the bird escaped. I found that a cat or raccoon had pulled the wire apart so there was an opening large enough for a small kitten or a bird to crawl through. Anyway I have to check the openings every day now. So get the wire that's set up for protection against coyotes and deer.

Thank you so much! If you would like to see some great cat furniture, look at Feline Furniture here. I bought two really cool cat shelters from Steve, the owner. This is my second cat enclosure. I already had one at my last house which I sadly left to another cat lover. I had this concept in my head for many years but was unable to do it because I always lived in condos.

Thanks so much for the compliment. My cats love it out there. I love not having the kitty litter boxes in the house. It is so much cleaner.

I thought last winter of bringing a cat box inside when it got really cold, but I discovered the cats sitting outside, enjoying the enclosure even during that really cold time. But in Colorado you might want to bring in the cat boxes for a few months. My cats love sitting up high, checking out the birds. All the perches inside were from the thrift store or recycled wood that my handman used (that's the two-level perch at the lower right and the two shelves in back by the door).

Thanks so much for your comments. There is a plastic roof, so the cat boxes are outside in all kinds of weather. The roof does tend to leak where the screws hold down the roof, but I put plastic pails under those areas which are in the center. The boxes are nowhere the leaks. It is worth the time and expense just to get the cat litter boxes out of the house. Also the cat litter lasts much longer being exposed to outside air. My cats love having their own place. I love it too.
