Anti-Slaughter/Fans of Barbaro: Keep Holding On

Most of the horses featured in this video were saved by Fans of Barbaro (FOBs). So if you're an FOB watching this video and recognize your horse, please comment and tell the world how he/she is doing in their second shot at life. Thank you for saving them! And a special thanks to Alex Brown who gave the FOB a place to meet, growing that website into so much more than just a discussion board...it's a homebase, a headquarters for strategizing, and for being an important part of getting the word out about horse slaughter! If only the world were filled with more people like Alex!

I've always liked this song and when Barbaro was recovering and had setbacks, this song took on a special meaning. Then it started applying to people I know and it continued to be one of my favorite songs. It's also appropriate when applied to the horses who are waiting/hoping to be saved. I was involved in trying to end horse slaughter before I knew how special Barbaro was, back when he was just a 2 year old winning races with ease. Now that he's gone, his fans and I keep trying to end horse slaughter (despite all the frustations of dealing with politicians), because of Barbaro. The Fans of Barbaro believe that all horses (all animals actually!) should have as peaceful of an ending as Barbaro did, and should be surrounded by those who love and care. As the Fans of Barbaro like to say, "We are Barbaro's voice."

@breyerbarn Looks like she was severely neglected. She was rescued though. I don't know the rest of her story, but hopefully she was nursed back to health and found a loving home!

I always wondered what would have happened if I didn't get my horse when I did. I got her from a horse broker and I wondered if someone would have bought her and taken her to a slaughter house if I hadn't gotten her when I did.

My friend did a 4-H presentation on slaughter and I did a pro con speech as well. Thnks for uploading. =]

These made me cry but Maddie made me cry the worst :( I am against horse slaughter :) I hope one day rescuers will win and all the "Horse" slaughter houses will go. My horseback lesson lady rescued a beautiful black mare and we think she is pregnant:/

i dont know how ppl can just kill horses...how can they take a living breathing creatures life away? this is why im an animal person and not a ppl person cuz humans are sick minded freaks who only care about themselves...

when I sell a horse and or a foal to some one I always keep saying I don't know what happened to them but yay I hate slaghture why do they do such bad things every night before I go to bed I thing of all the bore horses that had to be lad to rest because of us
