Great video. Moderation and balance in all things, lol.

I would describe myself as a moderate who leans to the conservative side. I am against abortion, gay marriages, stem cell research and for the war on Iraq. I did not vote this year because I felt both candidates were rather lousy. Neither one appealed to me.

@AVoiceCrying33 Labels are relative. I wasn't doubting your own view of yourself as a social conservative. It's just the social conservatives who are the most vocal in the US are often very far to the right. I tend to think most Americans and most Christians are moderate on most issues. On sexuality, you're socially conservative and I consider myself to be socially moderate. On abortion, your moderation/pragmatism seems fairly liberal from my liberal perspective. Labels aren't that important.

@AVoiceCrying33 The reason I asked this question is because I've noticed even some moderate social conservatives tend to put ideology above results. I guess they don't believe the end justifies the means. Abortion is wrong. Sex before marriage is wrong. Teaching people about safe sex is wrong. It's all wrong because our present culture is wrong. It seems they think compromising for practical results is dangerous and the only solution is society must be brought into alignment with their beliefs.

Keep walking on that narrow road
I realize my non-believer question might annoy you, but I honestly would like to know. How do you balance principles & reality? You say that abortion should be allowable if the lives of both mother and fetus are endangered, but that is a tricky line to maintain. Who gets to decide when the danger is enough? Doctors or politicians? Also, how do you react to the fact that countries with legalized abortions actually have lower abortion rates? If you're forced, would you choose ideology or results?

@MarmaladeINFP Thats ok That is why I make this videos although I may not always know the answer.
I believe the abortion debate is 3 pronged. #1 have a better safety net for the poor so they wouldn't feel the need to have abortions because they can't afford another baby. #2 Have laws that would minimize elective abortions. #3 change the hearts of humanity where being pregnant at the wrong time might be considered an illness that can be remedied by abortion.

@MarmaladeINFP One of the reasons why they have lower abortion rates than the US is because that they have a safety net for the poor. You can't target abortion without targeting the number one reason why people have elective abortions, but the right wing believe that is socialist so they just pass laws and that like I said is only one third of the solution in my opinion.
Also we should have abstinance plus education, not abstinance only, but both teaching values of that and birth control

@AVoiceCrying33 Going by my own experience, I'd say your view on abortion is more typical of liberal Christians than conservative Christians. It's interesting that you call yourself a social conservative. Compared to the far right social conservatives, you seem very moderate. It's quite refreshing. I think I'm fairly typical for a social liberal in the US and I more or less agree with what you say about abortion. Every person I've ever met is interested in decreasing the number of abortions.

@MarmaladeINFP I do considor myself a social conservative in that I do not like how sex has become, it has become a comoditty, it has been warped and twisted into something that serves just the flesh. we have sex to sate the loneliness, to get what we want ect. it twists the gift that sex is.
I guess I am more of a moderate or a pragmatist on the view of abortion. the extremist view will not decrease the numbers, it will only make it more deadly

I agree that a christian should be on the path of God. we should be pro-life (against abortion, the death penalty, war,in favor of helath care for all and protecting our environment),pro-women and supportive of gay rights. We should be against pornography, premarital sex (but in favor of gay marriage),we should be against the abuse of drink but we should enjoy beer & wine...and spirits of course...but the reality is that Jesus has saved us all no matter our thoughts on these things. Peace
