A moving song from their 1970 LP with beautiful female vocals. Written by Colin Ormston, a local songwriter and poet, and enthusiast at the Burnley Folk Club where Pendlefolk were residents. Beautiful lead female vocals.
Pendlefolk were:Roger Westbrook, guitar, 12-string guitar; Chris Westbrook, vocal; Peter Nash, vocal, guitar; Jean Douglas, vocal; Diane Whitford, vocal.
Colin's website at http://www.youmustrememberthis.co.uk/pendlefolk.htm has a nice page about them, as well as other interesting reminiscences.
Roger went on to record his own albums and became a popular performer in the clubs.
The singer is Christine Westbrook who was married to Roger Westbrook. I was ~Diane Whitford also in the Pendlefolk. I was married to Pete Nash (Ashworth) and I took over from Jean Douglas who left the group to start a family. I still have the record.

Thank you, Diane for the information. : ) It's always nice to hear from those who were part of the bands and songs. I imagine Burnley Folk Club was great! I miss my own Folk Club days. All the best.

Thank you for your feedback. I don't know who the main female singer is, but if you check my notes, there are two candidates. I don't have the album, so can't post other songs from it.. There is another song from the album posted elsewhere on YT. 'Old Pendle'. If you contact the song-writer, Colin (details in notes too) he would be able to tell you more of both the album and the lead singer.
