Some people seem to think that you need spring compressors to remove and install coil springs from a strut assembly, the fact of the matter is that it's not necessary and is pointlessly time consuming, and actually creates a more dangerous condition by compressing the spring further than it already is...on some vehicles it may be necessary but for a 2,800lbs lancer, it's not required at all...springs can be reinstalled with body weight and bare hands...
