@JohnPaulParks Maybe because they were beaten, not spanken.

sorry sir but you are misunderstanding john 2:15 every one knows that one of the most effective ways to get livestock moving is to crack a whip. Jesus did this and the livestock fled. Not wanting to loose there livestock the moneychangers followed. To say jesus hit them is blasphemy. that would contridict every thing he taught. and as for supporting a spnking ,go read 1 john 4:18 and ask yourself if this scripture can co-exist with the spanking tradition.

peopel dont get it the newT has do deal with more of a spirital side about mking it in to heaven but Jesus did whip the men who was making their own profit in church.... but when we r kids we dont know the wrong from right so we have to be taught and we also have to be taught what will have if we do the wrong and disobey and what pain will we suffer just like a spanking i teaches u what will happen when u do bad

IIRC this quote is not from the Bible bot from some midlle ages poem.

ohhh i can imagine their answer now: "Them no-good whipper-snappers aint got beaten enough!"
For those who really believe in "spare the rod, spoil the child," consider this: virtually every person in the state prison was beaten as a child. So why didn't it work?

America is quite violent compared to other industrialised nations. Murder rate is about 3 times that of uk, about 10 times that of iceland and japan. I think its the only one left with the death penalty in some places. Don't know if its the warrior God or because there are so many guns. ("weapons effect" Berkowitz and LePage). Could be a lot of reasons. I don't really know
