  • @AnthonyUK thats very true peaple think beacuse you get the crazy motherfucking kids throwing them over the field and on the streets they will ban them but for that exact reason you have stated is why they will never ban them

  • I'am glad the UK doesn't have a ban on firework sales and private use;our Govt refuses to ban them because they believe a ban will not necessarily stop it-all a ban on sales and use does is encourage the illegal blackmarket trade/sales of unregulated import chinese european and international fireworks of dangerous, poor or questionable quality to Joe Public who would get injured or burned lighting and/or using them, also they could malfunction and injure spectators if they go wrong.

  • Boy were they fun. To think what we used to do with them!! No wonder there banned now..

  • that was good shit, queens birthday long weekend was the weekend for letting off, we'd hoard for a few weeks in advance when they came on sale and start detonating.

throwdowns, jumping jacks, chrysanthemum wheels. they all played their part in raising neighbourhood hell.

awesome fun, until someone'd lose an eye. then we'd let a comet or two off at the approaching ambulance, and the fun'd begin again.

  • :( im only 22 but have a 40 year old sister that rememebered this.....bring back fun....simple....light and stand back, not hold it in ur hand which triggered the ban:(

  • It's a celebration of The Queens' Birthdays.

  • The Australian Government have ignored the problem that comes along with banning the sale/use of fireworks, and that is that you only push the trade underground to an unregulated free-for-all blackmarket where the quality and safety of the fireworks comes second to the sales this generates and the fireworks sold by the illegal blackmarket vendors will not meet any sorts of safety standards at all being dangerous and possibly potentially lethal even deadly when lit and used by the purchasers.

  • Used to, I think... until they took away the fireworks buying power from the public in most states, and regulated the fireworks industry.

There have been few incidents since, as the majority of displays are conducted by professional fireworks companies, which setup, conduct and clear after the display, as well as using trained pyrotechnicians.

  • Do they really celebrate Guy Fawkes Day in Australia?

  • thats it scare the shit out of everybody
