You somehow ignore the fact that CRIME GOES DOWN fast (according to the FBI's charts/statistics) as gun ownership increases. Just look at the UK, 15 years of skyrocketing crime since banning firearms & several protests to get them back. Obviously when there are more guns in circulation there will be more, "deaths by gun", because the tool itself is more available. But that does not change the fact that taking away good citizens right to defend themselves with a gun makes them LESS SAFE not more.

The homicide rate in the US is 5.5 , moreover the homicide by firearm rate is 3.7, meaning that 67% of all homicides in the US are from firearms. Then lets look at Australia or countries with similar gun laws, and the overall homicide rate is 1.05 with (as i stated earlier) homicide by firearm only 0.09
