"Nature has done fine for millions of years right? 99% of all species that have ever lived are now dead. Your definition of "fine" is a bit naive to be fair"

Well nature IS nature. It goes through periods, through cycles, through destruction and rebirth, through extinction. The whole idea of "managing" it is fucking absurd, and an selfish intention of us, humans. Our ideas, and the whole basis of human behavior and thought does not, and will not coincide with nature.

  • @gorgolbutt - Don't agree at all. I for one am not suddenly just going to roll over to nature. Nature has done fine for millions of years right? 99% of all species that have ever lived are now dead. Your definition of "fine" is a bit naive to be fair (that's about the nicest thing anyone with any intelligence can say about it). There is nothing wrong with humans managing the nature around it so that we can live in those areas as well as the native species. We just need to learn.

  • @gorgolbutt "it's about time that we started to use that intelligence" - Get off your soap box, people are. Just because you don't pay enough attention to it doesn't mean people are not working on all manner of problems we have caused.

  • Predators, all animals, that are indigenous keystone species, have a profound impact on the living landscape, even flora. The wolf culls in the United States have reshaped & redefined the way many species attempt to survive. Wolf burrows alone generate the necessary environment for countless species of both plant & animal. The balance has been upset in ways that many do not even realize.

  • @gorgolbutt agreed.

  • e, it's not rocket Science is it? We are supposed to be the most intelligent species on the planet, it's about time that we started to use that intelligence. It does not help that some people still use outdated books & myths to try to justify our so called God given right to abuse this planet

  • It just proves that Man should not mess around with the balance of Nature, it has been doing just fine for millions of years on it's own. We need to learn how to live alongside Nature & not try to control it, all other animals have got just as much right to be here as we do. We need to learn how to control ourselves not Nature & work with it not against it. The only population that we need to control is our own. If Humans come into conflict with Nature it is only because we are in the wrong plac
