Since the fall of the Soviet Union, Russia has embraced a capitalist system.

Within 17 years, the Russian capital boasted more billionaires than any other city in the world.

  • lets not forget that the capitalist reforms and looting of the country by capitalist opportunists during the yeltsin years killed off russians at extraordinary levels. local aristocrats then began to organize fascist groups whose purpose was to blame the problems on immigrants, and direct the anger of people at innocent people who had nothing to do with the neo-liberal reforms. putin tightened the reigns a little bit and settled things, but the massive internal problems still exist.

  • This is not good news.

  • Russia history ,I'm well aware of.

  • Lets just agree that Russia has come a long way in improving its economy, there is nothing crazy with seeing beggars on the streets, because the change from communism to semi-capitalism is a very, very difficult process, I think Dan is just trying to say that you should read on some history of Russia to understand why things are the way they are before making an empty statement.
