Muslim narrative about Jesus and the beliefs of Islam.

Jesus, the son of Mary, is a prophet of God and not the son of God according to the Koran. This is the main difference of beliefs in the faiths of Christianity and Islam. There is not "moon god" in Islam, the moon and star are no more worshipped by Islam than a wooden cross is worshipped by Christians.

There are two main sources for 'Isa, the Muslim Jesus. The Qur'an gives a history of his life, whilst the Hadith collections — recollections of Muhammad's words and deeds — establish his place in the Muslim understanding of the future.

The Qur'an

'Isa, was a prophet of Islam

Jesus' true name, according to the Qur'an, was 'Isa. His message was pure Islam, surrender to Allah. (Âl 'Imran 3:84) Like all the Muslim prophets before him, and like Muhammad after him, 'Isa was a lawgiver, and Christians should submit to his law. (Âl 'Imran 3:50; Al-Ma'idah 5:48) 'Isa's original disciples were also true Muslims, for they said 'We believe. Bear witness that we have surrendered. We are Muslims.' (Al-Ma'idah 5:111)

'The Books'

Like other messengers of Islam before him, 'Isa received his revelation of Islam in the form of a book. (Al-An'am 6:90) 'Isa's book is called the Injil or 'gospel'. (Al-Ma'idah 5:46) The Torah was Moses' book, and the Zabur (Psalms) were David's book. So Jews and Christians are 'people of the Book'. The one religion revealed in these books was Islam. (Âl 'Imran 3:18)

As with previous prophets, 'Isa's revelation verified previous prophets' revelations. (Âl 'Imran 3:49,84; Al-Ma'idah 5:46; As-Saff 61:6) Muhammad himself verified all previous revelations, including the revelation to 'Isa (An-Nisa' 4:47), and so Muslims must believe in the revelation which 'Isa received. (Al-Baqarah 2:136) However, after 'Isa the Injil was lost in its original form. Today the holy Qur'an is the only true religion.

@ELECTRICPORT there are multiple accounts of jesus saying he is God, you can beleive what ever you want but jesus said he was God. you must either believe Jesus is God or that Jesus was a crazy man running around saying he was God

@kratos69xx This is one of the four "ok gospels" I take it? The ones the Catholic Church and Roman Empire decided suited their political interests in Nicean Council, right? You do realize there were other gospels that viewed Christ in the Islamic mold but were suppresssed right? How can you know which was correct since you werent there? Bible is more the word of the Roman Church and Empire thanthan that of God.

Bible is totally unreliable and corrupted. Council of Nicea decided what is ok and what wasnt. Modern Christians have no real foundation of their claims. What they call Christianity is really more "Paul-ism" because he accounts for 80 percent of New Testament and concocted trinity to appeal to pagans. Original church in Jerusalem excommunicated him. If you "Christians" want to rely on this man's testimony, who never met or spoke once with Jesus, what can a sane man say? SMH.........

@73geneva Forgive me, i hope i don't offend you but how was Jesus unique when he ate, drank, prayed, breathed, used the washroom n was born of a women like all humans! What about Melchizedek? He is obviously more unique then Jesus, having no parents with no beginning(Jesus was born, had a beginning) n no end(Jesus died on the cross he had an end) but Melchizedek neither died nor was he born! But guess what God cannot died nor can death over take Him the Creator, He is the giver n taker of life!

@MrDannySimple My friend, this is not about Paul. Peter and John lived with Jesus for 3 years and they wrote about Him. In fact it was John whom Jesus told; I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending. It was not Paul, but John. Jesus is not equal to anyone He is more than all because He is the Son of God. The people you mentioned are still in their graves but Jesus defeated death by rising from the dead and that makes Him unique. He is your saviour; accept Him.
