Sri Lanka Army (SLA) fired at least 2,600 Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) rockets, more than 1,000 artillery shells and at least 2,000 heavy mortar shells from 6:00 p.m. Monday till 11:00 a.m.
Sri Lanka Armys (SLA) aerial bombing, shelling and naval attacks targeting the safe-zone killed at least 272 innocent civilians on Monday and injured several hundreds more.

Earlier, SLA stated that it would not use aerial strikes or artillery shelling on civilian safe-zone. The latest attacks proved that SLA were only trying to deceive the international community and India who successfully continue to pretend that nothing happened in the northern region of the Island. The correspondent personally witnessed 100s of dead bodies while fleeing from the area. Aerial bombs, cluster shells and smoke or white-dust-emitting shells that made people to faint were widely deployed on civilians by the Sri Lanka Army in its effort to capture them to later use as human shields.
