The television ads in Pakistan feature clips of President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton during press appearances in Washington in which they condemned the video. Their words were subtitled in Urdu.

"We absolutely reject its content and message," said Clinton in the advertisement.

The advertisements end with the seal of the American Embassy in Islamabad, the Pakistani capital.

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said the ad was produced by the embassy, which spent $70,000 to air the 30-second spot on seven Pakistani television stations. Pakistan is the only country where the ads are running. The embassy wanted to run the ads because it determined that the messages of Obama and Clinton were not reaching enough of the Pakistani public through regular news reporting, Nuland said.

"As you know, after the (anti-Islam) video came out, there was concern in lots of bodies politic, including Pakistan, as to whether this represented the views of the U.S. government. So, in order to be sure that we reached the largest number of Pakistanis, some 90 million as I understand it in this case with these spots, it was the judgment that this was the best way to do it," Nuland said.

If America has nothing to do with this video then why not they remove it. Speaking in favor of holocaust is a crime as it spreads hate against Jews then why not it is a crime to spread hate against Muslims. If America can attack any country in the world to protect its interest then why they are unable to block the video against Islam.

I actually am pretty sure that Obama & Clinton were saying the Government of the US does not endorse or promote the movie.

The Constitution of the United States of America notes in the 1st Amendment that all Americans have Freedom of Speech / Expression.

It was a silly movie, get OVER IT. We won't take it down & will only create more Truths about mohammad just to exemplify our sovereign rights. Everything in the movie about mohammad was True! You should feel honored about the cheesy Biopic.

Well said. No President has ever apologized (or implied such) for an American's inalienable rights under the constitution. As a Christian, I've saw countless movies, articles, books, music, "artwork," etc that is anti-Christian. No President apologized to his citizens, let alone the international Christian community at large for such expressions. Guess that's because there's no fear of "Christian mayhem?"

Obama made it look like America was flawed in some way for having Freedom of Expression.

The Barack/Hillary orchestrated Benghazi cover up included this, in order to pump the false narrative that there was a popular protest against an Islam-discrediting video. If you have the slightest belief in that narrative, you're either illiterate or deliberately avoiding information.

well said, I don't see Obama apologizing to Christains for the backlash they receive cuz of their beliefs. He sure didn't rush to defend ESPN's Broussard last week.

You won't be very popular with the Jews but what is the Government going to arrest you for...it can't if you're saying it. However, you decide you are going to create another holocaust and start killing Jews then you are going to have one heck of a problem !

Its about Freedom of Speech. It is valued more highly than any other thing. An individual or group has the right to express their opinion. America is one of the few countries where you have the right to burn the American flag in America and not get arrested or prosecuted....its not about Muslims which is a problem that Muslims can't seem to understand. Its politics !!

Quit your lying please! Why do you muslims pretend to say that people can't/don't praise or deny the holocaust? First off, most muslims DO praise/deny the holocaust, so don't lie and say, "what if?" Look up people like David Duke or other holocaust deniers.

Deny it all you want. Nobody cares in America, we'd just look at you as more of an ignorant person than most islamist's are already seen as.

Here is what the NY Times; that bastion of patriotism and fairplay had to say about Piss Christ:

A museum is obliged to challenge the public as well as to placate it, or else the museum becomes a chamber of attractive ghosts, an institution completely disconnected from art in our time.

And here is what they said about The Innocence of Mohammed:

Whoever made the film did true damage to the interests of the United States and its core principle of respecting all faiths.

    challenge the public
