  • my hp laptop speakers will not turn on but it says it is on but still it does not work ive tryd anything i can any help?

  • @drake1351 if this didnt work, then your spakers are probably done, they sell them online for around 20$ or so.

  • how did you turn on your laptop with out the poewr button

  • @lamaj911 i tried not to let it die at ALL, but i would unscrew the power/speaker bar and fuddled with the cable and button till it worked, it only worked once. but my laptop died completely, so i am selling the parts.

  • thanks guys,

  • i replaced both power button and speaker cable from amazon.com but i havnt had any luck fixing the issue. I cannot get my laptop to turn on. After the power button failed to turn the laptop on I used the quickplay button. Then that failed as well as the speakers. What else should I try?

  • @beeasy713 well, i talked to several different computer fixing places and they refused to take my lap top (dv6000) because it has a lot of problems, has been recalled, and was "prone for failure" so it may just be broken

  • This worked GREAT! Thanks for the detailed instructions. Couldn't have done it with just the lame HP manual. Great job explaining for those of us with minimal experience opening up our laptops.

  • I think I damaged my cable with wrong polarity. Do you have close up image what facing should the pin should be? Thank yoyu

  • Thanks, this worked a treat, I'd been resigned to having no sound anymore, now I have sound again
