I'm pretty sure that is Willie Shoemaker with Magic. You're right about the ad featuring 1981 models but the commercial itself is from 1980. Car ads typically spotlight models from the successive year of their broadcast....eg ads from 1979 would be showcasing 1980 models, and so on.
