The story is something like the kid got a bear because he's cute but no matter how cute he is he can't overcome his nature...so he attacks his owner a lot. So you'll often see Gloomy Bears with legs hanging out of their mouths and things. The Christmas one I have has a Santa hat hanging out of his mouth and a bloody bag with a leg sticking out of it.
