In the majority of DDR Hottest Party 2 videos I've seen online, 99% of people uploading videos don't play with the hand markers at all. Now granted, I used to do this too. Even though the first five HP2 uploads weren't for score, I turned the hand markers off because like most I thought they were lame and mainly because in HP1 the hand markers would barely respond at times, not to mention that at first it felt like they were thrown in random spots. However, I decided to turn them on for a few songs on this game and for whatever reason it just clicked. No doubt it had a lot to do with the fact that they respond MUCH better than they did in HP1 along with realizing just how much higher the scores were when you played with them. The new hand and foot step patterns were also fun the sense of having to actually relearn songs again. At this point the only songs that I won't play with hands on are the few songs that I feel get too compromised with them around. Fortunately, that list is quite small, but even then that's to be expected since every DDR has it's lemons. Now my goal with this and the other videos is to show the charts with the hand markers implemented and also show the additional gameplay elements. Obviously, this is played on the stock dancepad along with the Wii Remote and nunchuk. The controller is alright for just regular foot DDR, but this is one time getting off the chair really works wonders. And speaking of wonders, turning hands on makes this game VERY anti-bar.
For those new to hands in HP2, the yellow flashes on time with the beat on the receptor arrows is me moving the remote and nunchuk in time with the quarter note beats. This raises the hand combo meter by one unit. Every eight shakes or every hand note hit raises the hand combo count by 1. You also get what appears to be a multiplier bonus for every hand note hit based on the hand combo. Missing a hand marker resets the hand combo count and ruins the multiplier. Missing a foot note ALSO ruins the multiplier, you keep the hand combo but the multiplier resets. You also get a score bonus on the last step of the song.
With this song, you can get a AAA without hands on, but for others like Tribulations you cannot AAA without the hand markers on nor can you AAA without either meeting the score requirement or turning on gimmicks along with hands. Why it was done like this, I don't know. On the flipside, I do find this to be cool as it adds an extra layer of challenge to the game, especially when a song requires gimmicks.
As for this song in general, this is a pretty decent chart but with some VERY well thought out hand sequences that make me wonder why I would ever want to turn hands off. Couple awkward foot parts, but it's nothing you can't get with practice.
Cover is speedier, more technoish, but I like it. Haley Hunt did a more than respectable job on vocals and it comes together pretty well.
i have a question i have the same game as you but i can't get marvelous or AAA only perfet or AA ( i play on basic and hard mode)

Marvelous is turned on in options. AAA's are only achieved when you get nothing less than a perfect/marvelous on a song. In this case, there's no other requirements for one. With some others in this game, you have to have hands on and meet a certain score, OR you have to turn both hands and gimmicks on.

Make sure it's plugged in into the P1 GC controller slot. If it's plugged into the correct GC port and still not working, you've probably got a faulty mat. Return it for another one.
