Tens of thousands of French Huguenots fled to the Protestant Netherlands in the 16th & 17th centuries from religious persecution.....many French family surnames became Dutch.....or German.....and then British...moreover....the Royal Dutch House of Orange had French roots......and all of these connexions....and more....brought the Genevan Psalm Tunes & Lyrics to the Netherlands.....the United Kingdom.....and North America

Wow... that was awesome. The music fit the psalm like a glove.

@TheLordAwaked are there song books that sing directly from the KJV word for word?
-
@TheLordAwaked no it is paraphrased from the KJV (which we use in our services) in order to get it to rhyme and fit the timing.

well you did a good job ;-) its hard to find videos of psalm singing in english or french language. Most pslams singing videos are found of dutch or german origin at Youtube. But I like to hear how the Genevan psalms are sung in other languages like french and english.

I hope to get Suzanne Haik-Vantoura's Hebrew version up on my channel (teamim) in the near future, time and health permitting. If you like this, you should like that too. :) Meanwhile, I'm saving this version to one of my Playlists.

A beautiful Huguenot Genevan Psalm, it could be our ethnic anthem!

I recorded in the brass one at a time always listening to what I have played in before on my head phones and then when that was done I sang in the parts one at a time in the same manner. I had a very hard time singing in the alto line.

I would highly encourage you to do some recording, and do post it here for me to enjoy. This site needs more psalter recordings.
I use a program called Cubase4 and I have a collection of mics and a small 8 channel mixing board from MAudio. I used some of my brass to record the background music (see my Abide with Me video)
And which persons sing this psalm? a small congregation or? and where is it recorded?

@joffryvangrondelle I recorded this song in my basement. I sang the vocal parts myself after I recorded the brass. I use a multi-layering technique and listen back to the layers I have recorded as I sing in, or play new parts.
Doei,..... say Hi to Holland for me, I miss visiting it.
