Twitter Music ; Greenhouse Effect 1992 "BIG TEEN DOLLAR$" // BTD1992 - HIGH DEF VERSION !!

In the summer of 1992, Clark Hagins began work on one of his most ambitious songs,...the Song would be "Big Teen Dollar$" ,..a tune that would be the precursor to songs like Bowling for Soup's 1985 and silly tracks from Weezer, Green Day, Cake, Beck and others. The song was an immediate smash hit in the South Bay area of Redondo Beach and Torrance for Greenhouse Effect as all the tapes printed were sold out in days. Unfortunately, this would be one of G.e's final songs as the band split in December 1992 with Rick Carmody permenently a member of The One handed Readers. Several great magazine reviews greeted "BTD" in early 1993, among them one in Flipside Magazine and one in Factsheet Five. But Hagins was out of money and over-all lack of attendance at G.e. gigs forced him to retire from music although tape sales could still be strong as "BTD" proved,..
This hillariously weird and ironic song is so strange and so menacingly pointing and obvious, that it only further speaks volumes of a remarkable band whose time never came...........
