@coerdelion13 Well, I'm not so sure anyone married for love back then. People were usually bethrothed, especially the upper class. They didn't have choices. In addition, rather than divorcing, they would usually just take mistresses instead.

Yeah, like inbreeding, not to mention that men mostly are at least 15 years older than the women & most of them don't live pass 40. Not to mention on how their lords & their dukes can snatch their wives & shagging them as long as they want. It's not because they "really love", it's because Catholic church FORBIDS divorce, & most of them don't live pass 40.

But at least people those times really love...they live with a person for the rest of their lives. But people these days have become so demanding that one simple thing means divorce
