  • I've got guineafowl for dinner today. Mmmmmmm-mmmm.

  • @MaisieMuffin123 Yes, I have had guinea fowl for dinner too. They taste really good.

  • Were having a big Flea/Tick problem were getting our Guineas this Sunday we were going to get 6 but after viewing this video and hearing how loud they are my Mom changed he mind we are now getting 4

  • @BLASTD20 Haha, they are about as annoying as roosters. Although if you have a whole bunch of them, it seems they never stop making noise. 4 is a good number of them, I would not get more than about ten though. I used to have over 25, but brought the flock down to 5. I rarely hear them now, as they are free-ranging. And yes, they are really good for ticks. I'm not sure about fleas, I haven't looked up about if they eat them or not.

  • why is it the feathers of some birds like guinea fowl are white instead of the speckled pattern? is it something to do with domestication?

besides that, great video! i've always found these birds so cute

  • @sidormartykrofft I'm not sure what you mean. The feathers on the neck of the guinea fowls do not have much speckling on them, but the rest of the body is covered in little lighter colored pokie dots. You can't see it as much, but even my off color white guineas have pokie dots on them. They're just hard to see in this video. :)

Now, I'm not sure about chickens like the leghorn. Maybe they bred them not to have speckles on them. Thank you, I'm glad you like these birds, they are cute! :)

  • It's Skeksis!

  • @sidormartykrofft You're making a good point regarding domestication as responsible for the feather pattern. However, the real answer lies on cammouflage, since this species was introduced from Subsaharian Africa. (Which makes them "African-American"... Don't call them 'n*ggers'. LOL).

  • My aunt Jean has guinea fowl, I think. They're such interesting birds. They can roost in her big pine tree next to her house.

  • We love all Guinea Fowl. Check out our Guinea Fowl's new hit song, 'Dont call me a Turkey" on MyAniMovies You Tube Channel. Happy Thanksgiving from MyAniMovies

  • Funny ol birds.:)
