I have exactly the same problem on Windows 7 64-bit (with sync turned on, with sync turned off it works, but I want sync).
Any ideas for fixes? I tried deleting my bookmarks and re-importing them from an exported html file, but it didn't work. In fact my bookmarks are more messed up than before.

@rbnn Hi, I've no fix for this. You can see this issue here code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=20011. There is a duplicate issue here code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=88332 with a possible "solution". I recommend you to add a star to issue #20011 so you can keep track of the bug and know when it's fixed.
