@rickerbycourt i think i know what i'm talking about thank you very much, from info and research i received no matter what in the HST set has happened they need to keep ateast 1 engine on to keep itself and the other at 40 degrees celcious otherwise it damages the engine and voids their warranty on it. it might also be so the lights, announcements and like you said heat on

@jules46443 I think its mnore to do with maintaing the train heat supply. HST MK3's wont be able to draw their required 415V 3 phase from the 91 so the HST's will still need to run their generators.
