Obviously it's her business, and if she's capable of taking care of the baby, it's great. BUT the child will most likely not be around for very long, and that's not fair to the child. Nobody should lose their mother before they're married, having kids, etc. Those are things you should have the possibility to experience with your mother. Having said that, the child is going to love and appreciate it's mother just like we all do.

Some people say you can't have the baby but then want to force rape victims to have their baby???? WTF.... Having your baby should be your choice, VERY rare to acceptions for such...

(Part 2) Does she need to be around until he gets grandchildren or even gets married? In any other case where a 66 year old woman decided to get pregnant I would have said it is un-ethical for her to have this baby. But after seeing what she did to actually get the baby (move to the Ukraine all the way from the UK) just to be able to get invetro - I can see she is determined. Determination, perseverance, and success are all traits that she has.

@terraview27 She's a successful career women according to the news report. Success is a good indicator in how well someone can take of their child. In no way shape or form am I saying success is foolproof way to see if a person can manage a kid well or not. If she is affluent enough to afford invetro and she keeps herself in shape she would be a better mother than more than half the mothers in the world.

If she can get preg who are we to decide if she's too old

Lets say she lives till the kid is 18. Will she be alive for their graduation, when they go off to college? Marriage? Grandchildren?
Lets say she lives till the kid is 14. Who will help them thru puberty, highschool, first boyfriend, prom, college etc.
What if the woman dies any earlier than that? NOBODY wants a kid to have to grow up without parents. So why would someone put a kid in that situation? I assume theres no MAN in the picture. Whos going to care for the kid?

2. You guys are being overly optimistic talking about her living to 85. Google says life expectancy in the UK is 80. So she is expected to live until her kid is 14. Sir- you think the kid will be fine if their parent dies when they're 18 or 19 because "at least they exist" (which is your only argument and its a shitty one at that.)
-
SIR- you're an arrogant idiot.
1. Yes, it is a woman's right to have a baby. Women have a maternal instinct- we want babies. But having a baby so old is selfish.

She is 66 she is way into Menopause! That means stop!
@my89tube What I'm trying to say is We should concern more about illegal pregnancy like I said before. About this 66 year old women, it's okay if she still have a chance and healthy. She can get pregnant if she want to. I know sex is the greatest thing in our life....Ha3. But, don't ruin your childhood with adulthood stuff. This is my opinion. =)

I usually like tyt but "what magical book are we reading?" It's not being brainwahsed! It's science! Your body goes through phases, at the age of 66 your body is no longer the prestine baby making machine it once was... Kids of older parents, such as this lady, are more likely to be born with deformities and health issues as Audrey pointed out.
You cannot dismiss science for the sake of being cool and "liberal" and although I do consider myself a liberal I also consider myself to be logical.
