http://robertwimermusic.com | Finale and Sibelius are top-notch music notation software that is fantastic, but what if you can't shell out the money? MuseScore is a FREE open source alternative that you should look into. There are versions for Windows, Mac, and Linux. My very brief tutorial goes over the Linux Mint version.

  • thanks for the help man but u must have no friends to be making videos on new years. alone

  • @Vortecdude Too funny ;) New Years is just another day for me. I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial.

  • Funny....yes, I just caught it, I'm saying "musicscore" instead of "muse"score... Duh :)

  • Great screencast! It appears Linux Mint still features an old version of MuseScore. It's currently up to 0.9.6.3 which is a seriously improved version over 0.9.5 and older.

  • @musescore Thanks for the comment. I am enjoying this open source alternative. Not to knock Finale or Sibelius, but there's other stuff out there and I like to let people in on alternatives.
