@DAZZLEPHIL you may have noticed of the 54 nation that have taken independence none have ever requested to return, only one wanted money from you Zimbabwe, and English generosity was obvious the got nothing... and you think we would ask England? the trouble with asshole you believe your own bullsh*t.
I don't hold a grievance for the past because I'm a supporter of Scottish independence and typically that means I look to the future. What was done is done, its now time for change. Scottish Independence will, paradoxically, bring us all closer together.
When Westminster politicians say we are stronger together "we" actually means them. They are stronger and more powerful because of the political union, I want a stronger Scotland and that's why I support Indy.
I can see your point about 800 years of oppression. Basically, Scotland lived with the threat of being invaded for hundreds of years, that in itself is a form of oppression. Scottish history has been distorted and told from an English perspective for many years now. For example, how much of Scottish history did you get in School? Scottish history, until now, was not ever part of the Scottish curriculum. Bizarrely, English history has been. There are reasons for that, its no accident
Oops! Sorry for that! I just reacted that way because this talk about 800 years of English oppression is taking place in Scotland too, claiming that Scotland was "conquered" by England in 1296 and has been struggling for independence ever since! Disinformation and ignorance are weapons in this debate! Don't take me as a fierce opponent of independence! But I'm an opponent of fallacies! I didn't mean to offend anyone and sorry for my "misreaction"! God bless ;-)
@libertycaps666 Oppressed for 800 years???? When? Where? How? Give me data and historical facts! It was only in 1707 that the parliament became one single parliament in Westminster! That was corrected already! Scotland was invaded several times by England, but NEVER conquered and always stayed free! And it were the Scottish Stuart kings who ascended the English throne in 1603, not the other way around! Scotland kept own laws, own money, own central bank, a.s.o.
@DAZZLEPHIL well considering for 800 years of our history we were oppressed by you brit dickheads in comprasion id say were doing fucking great right now, there may not be that much jobs goin in ireland right now but or economy will bounce back, and england aint doing so well ether mate look at the london riots sure a huge number of your population is living in poverty in council estates at least in my country there isnt such a massive divide between classes, tiocfaidh ar la ya cunt
