I like celebrities but I do not Worship them.
I never have. I have my own mind when it
comes to my hair, my clothes, my religion,
etc. and let's not forget Politics. Thank You.

Well put! I don't know why people will speak up for celebrities rather than for the real underpriveledged people in the world. When Britney is bombarded by paparazzi everyone is sympathizing, but when people die of hunger in 3rd world countries, people don't care.

@PrincessKLS No, its your mental capacity for being ignorant (Meaning not informed) to real life and lacking a grasp of reality. You must be very careful with that. Why? Allow me to share a clinical definition with you; a loss of contact with reality, usually including false beliefs about what is taking place or who one is (A.D.A.M., Medical Encyclopedia).
That is the definition of a state of psychosis. You're pressumed feeling of "kinship," sounds a little bit odd, and

If that's a syndrome, then I have it for sure :D  But well said, and I myself have been criticized as being crazy for my celeb. fascination, when to me it's not just part of our culture but maybe God's way of saying you have a spiritual connection to certain people who just happen not to be part of your real life.

well sometimes pple dont worship celebrities but they do usually act like thyre more important than everybody else

Well the difference between a celebrity and a superhero is one has a real life outside of their fictional one, and the other doesn't. The non famous have a personality disorder called cws, which on rare occasions has the potential of developing into some sort of stalking ordeal, but at the same time the celebrity suffers from a personality disorder called paranoia. We're all human, therefore no one should be interpreted as anything more than human. It's a shame we have to put face on God.

You're very eloquent and make your points extremely well. Very eye opening.
If not for that kid in Texas who fell down the well, we wouldn't be in this mess today. That seemed to give people permission to be intrusive, even if it wasn't a celebrity that was involved. Everything is ratings -based, and that story got covered non-stop! Now the super-famous have 24-hour news on cable to cover their stupidity, and we keep feeding the beast by constantly watching. Enough is enough!

i think that when people worship celebrities to the excessive level like that girl who committed suicide, that it isn't a syndrome within itself but is prolly a by-product of some other psychological problem. i agree with you.
i really enjoyed your analysis and ideas! :]
