My dad worked the timber line and it was very hard work. It was pulp wood and logs. I was 8 or 9 years old then but I was there with him in the mountains. Everthing was done by hand and we used a horse to pull the trees outta the line to the loading place. I remember we would load a 22 chord flatcar there in Del Rio and it would take 3 weeks to to fill the car and I would make $5.00 dollors for my 3 weeks work. 25 years later I would find myself on the same timberline cuttin the timber just like my daddy did...This song is about the footprints of my dad as I would sit on the mountain and remember back to when a young boy and dad's old log truck..1948..GMC..The words standing next to heaven well..it was pure and honest and his word you could put in your back pocket...my dad was as pure as a snowflake..this song is about driftin back in mind and walkin in his footprints In ANOTHER PLACE ANOTHER TIME...live at home with no effects.
