@myderekman Okay, so I bought a #4 blade and tried it, and yes, it works beautifully. One of my girls doesn't mind the clipper on her face, the other one does. This is a nice shortcut and a reliable outcome. Thanks for the tip!

OMG what a GOOD baby she's just sitting there I love it!

@myderekman Yes, that is one way to do it, but not everyone believes putting the clippers on their face is a good idea.

It's completely unnecessary for you to be cutting the hair on her head like you would a human at the hair dressers...... Invest in a pair of clippers, put a #4 blade on, and make 3 swipes through the hair on her head and it will be done. Grooming the way you do is only making all the hair on the head different lengths, where as with a clipper each and every hair is cut the same length in a fraction of the time it takes you to do it "your" way.
Thanks on the clippers you use on your beautiful dogs!!!! It turned out very good i have other question on where you purchase curve scissors.

Hiya can you tell me when i do my shih tzu fur on his head he wont keep still

@reynolds7292 you can try to pinch the hair under his chin between your fingers and work quickly. If your dog won't be still you probably need a helper to hold him, or get a grooming table with a loop to keep him still. Don't risk accidentally cutting his eyes because you can't control him by yourself.

Hi, Your Shih-Tzu's are adorable!!! Like mine, I have a girl, she is so cute and fluffy :D But she is really REALLY HYPER and tends to get knots in her hair, and I would like to keep her Fluffy for the winter, you know? So any tips on how to prevent knots?

@DeoDewHD The best way to prevent matting is to condition really good after shampooing. Use way more than you think you should, massage in well, and then let sit for about a minute before rinsing. You don't have to rinse it all out, leaving just a little bit in makes the hair more manageable. Most importantly, brush and comb your dog every single day.
