Sheldon Kagan presents KidzIdol Competion 2011

Montreal-area kids who can sing, dance, or play music will have a chance to vie for four grand prizes of $1,000 as part of an Island-wide talent competition launched by Sheldon Kagan International. Children in four age brackets (4-6, 7-9, 10-12, and 13-16) can enter the competition, called KidzIdol, by registering online at www.lesalondelafamille.com.

Once registered, entrants will be able to mail demos of their acts, in DVD or CD format, to Sheldon Kagan International's offices. The company will judge all acts and pick 80 entrants (20 from each age bracket) to perform at the semi-finals, which will be held at Pepsi Forum on Sunday, April 3, 2011. The 40 best acts (10 in each age bracket) will then be selected to perform at the finals on April 30 and May 1, 2011 at Palais des congrès de Montréal. Finalists from the 4-6 and 10-12 age brackets will perform on Saturday, April 30, 2011, and finalists from the 7-9 and 13-16 age brackets will perform on Sunday, May 1, 2011. A panel of judges will pick one winner from each age bracket, and each will receive a grand prize of $1,000. Secondary prizes will also be awarded.

The finals will be held during Le Salon de la Famille, a family-oriented consumer exhibition featuring products and services of interest to parents and their children. The exhibition is expected to draw thousands of visitors, so kid finalists can count on plenty of spectators to cheer them on.
