EEG technician Charlotte Woodall tells us about the great advantages of Continuous EEG in identifying brainwave irregularities in stroke, epilepsy and other patients. Typically EEGs can be performed for only about 20 minutes, sometimes missing irregularities that occur hours apart. The newest technology allows for patients to be monitored up to a week at a time. All data is digitally stored and can be uploaded to neurologists and other physicians around the world for opinions. Morganton's Grace Hospital was the first hospital in Western North Carolina to offer this option.
