It's been a while since I've done a cover so I felt it was time! Here's "Every Time I Die" by Children Of Bodom.

I've been playing for a little over 2 years now... I think about 26 months total.

Equipment:
ESP (LTD) Alexi-600
Line 6 Spider III 2x10
Plugged into an m-audio mobile-pre USB input into my computer

  • Awesome sweep picking dude. Is this guitar particularly more confortable to use this technique than others?

  • @AyreonsDimension I find the classical method of holding a guitar (having it turned upwards like that) does make it easier to sweep and in general play notes high on the fretboard. However, you don't have to use a V shaped guitar to do this, you can still rest a normal guitar between your legs tilted upwards (rather than resting it on your right leg, parallel to the ground), and you'll achieve the same effect :)

  • nice cover. How do you get the crying harmonics in the verses ? i can't do them so it sounds less dynamic on my cover. thank's for your answer dude ;)

  • @89Alex21 They're all pinch harmonics. You kind of hit the string harder with your pick and have your thumb near the edge of the pick so your thumb just barely grazes the string as you pluck it, creating the harmonic. You'll get different harmonics (or no sound) depending on where you are hitting the string with your pick (as in closer to the bridge or closer to the neck). Hope this helps! Once you get them working, try some vibrato, makes them sound great :)

  • I cant get wiremod 10.. 13 and up because revver is not loading. and the mega uploads are missing the ones i just stated ... does revver not work in australia? or is revver just down right now? your tuts have been helpfull so far. I dont see why you wouldnt post them on youtube...i would assume with your amount of views you would ave a a partnership :S Thanks for Tuts anyway if you cant help :)

  • @thelunn That's completely unrelated to this video, but yeah revver scammed the shit out of all its users and then disappeared. I don't have access to the original videos as I have reformatted my computer many times since then. Sorry, there's nothing I can do. Maybe you can find someone that downloaded them way back in the day, but I can't help you :(

  • @TwinsenDude Ah, didn't know that. I actually have a Jackson Dinky which is kinda similar to this kind of guitars, but never tried that position for sweep picking. I'll try it out, thanks!
