I got one of these as a gift. Being a hi-tech programming nerd, I installed Ubuntu on it. The calibration was a little fucked up, but nothing a ps3 controller via bluetooth couldnt fix.
The wireless card supports injection incase you do network penetrations. 2gb of Ram. It's far more powerful than an ipad could ever wish.
I have used ine of these for over a year now..............as a general pC....but mainly for hand-drawn cartoons, graphics and photo editing...........I downloaded brush and pen pressures...the line quality has to be seen to be believed..........it was pricey but worth every penny..........it does more than an i-Pad and graphic artists don't need a Cintiq graphics tablet.................yes...there are coimpromised but I wouldn;t be without my Sahara slate tablet PC.......a fantastic bit of kit:
@SirVantesAFC2PUA Yeah, but to put that on Adobe is irresponsible... not to mention his first comment was that Flash is legacy. Plus to offer a "tablet pc" with reduced functionality and increased price is just bad business in my oppinion. It's like someone buying a bicycle for $30,000 and insulting me for driving a $15,000 car because his is "less likely to crash".
@jtmajorx steve jobs broke the silence pretty much and said flash requires too much processing power for the puny a5 chipset for the ipad, and would drain too much battery life to have it on, also because flash crashes macs.
do you think it would work if i downloaded adobe lightroom and then tethered it to my dslr camera while i'm shooting on location so i could review photos that i just took?
I'm still not exactly sure why Mac fanboys defend Apple so valiantly, since they're the ones Apple is constantly screwing over. Really guys, it's been a great ride... but Apple disguises it's short comings as technological benefits pushing the envelope on the market. When in actuality their products are over priced and lack luster. iPad is just the most recent, with no flash support Jobs claims flash is legacy and HTML5 is the future. Even though Flash is current, and HTML5 is years away.
