This video shows how the transition word, "however" is used between two clauses. It can go at the beginning of a sentence, but it's usually in the middle. It also is used to say that something will be done in whatever way possible.

  • Thank you for your online lessons. I am a university student in England studying Litterature and Language. The past perfect tense has always confused me but since watching your video it seems a lot clearer. Could I ask you to upload a video on 'finite' and 'non-finite' verbs please. I find them completely confusing! thanks again :)

  • I'm very glad you know how to use a semi-colon. I was expecting you to use a comma, and was ready to type a long and brutal email on proper use of the semi-colon. I've met so many people who speak English as their first language who don't know the first thing about the puncuation and grammar used in their own language, and it's nice to see someone who does.

BTW, these videos are brilliant. About a year ago I could only speak broken English, but thanks to you, I am now fluent :P

  • Hello.

I always thought 'but' was after a comma and 'however' was used at the start of a sentance, after a full stop. Is this correct?

  • thanks!

  • Thanks a lot for your stuffs.

  • Paul, when can I use OTHER & ANOTHER? Thanks a lot and keep on rolling.

  • I do use or perhaps abuse conjunctions when writing; however, can we use different "transitions" like although, moreover, albeit, conversely while applying the same logic?

  • bonjour! i'm french and i watched some of your videos... i wanted to tell you "thanks"! I'm going to continue to watch them 'cause i wanna improve ( i don't know how to spell this word ^^) my american english prononciation ...

    thanks again and continue!!!
