The PVC boxes in question are new style casket vaults in which caskets are placed to prevent the ground from caving in as the casket rots away. They are of very sturdy and meant to replace the older concrete casket vaults which tend to take on moisture and deteriorate/collapse more quickly. I hear they go for about $750 retail, so they are not cheap either. Problem is that after time, the body inside rots like a moldy loaf of bread in a plastic sack on a kitchen counter. BUT WHY SO MANY?
