I think you have some surround effects enabled in your sound card settings, thats why you have "surround" effect with youtube videos.

Youtube doesn't support 5.1. this is what happend to me:

Left/center/right front speakers are ok but the speakers in the back are giving their sound but also the sound of the other speaker.

@montelomanis Your wrong it doesn't, look it up. If you hear 5.1 it's because your sound card is upscaling it.

Youtube doesn't support 5.1 if you hear it is because your sound card has some sort of virtual surround mode on.
