Jockey Joseph O'Brien becomes the youngest jockey to win a Breeders' Cup race, and does it for his father, trainer Aidan O'Brien, aboard St Nicholas Abby in the Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Turf at Churchill Downs on November 5.
Even when he was a 2yr.old, St. Nicholas Abbey's ability to win big races like this always came from his devastating turn of foot in the closing stages of his races. That same turn of foot that destroyed the Racing Post Trophy field in 2009 and that beat Midday at Epsom this season in the Coronation Cup served him well again in this race. Because St. Nicholas Abbey really did leave Sea Moon for dead in this race, IMO.
