God is faithful and cares for us and it is our duty to thank Him from our hearts daily. God has given us more blessings than we can count or deserve and we owe Him our appreciation, love and gratitude. Yet, many of us complain and murmur, and this is a grevious sin. We fail to thank Him because we are self-centered and focus is on ourselves instead of His goodness. This original song written on the Mission Field and sung during church in Barbados will encourage you to give God thanks. A thankful Christian is totally dependent on God for all that he is and has comes from God. Since failure to thank God is such an awful sin, we should then cultivate an attitude of thankfulness that would permeate our entire lives. Thankfulness is a vital part of godliness and it will promote contentment and humility. The foundation of an attitude of gratitude is a life lived in fellowship with Christ. Today is the day to give God heart-felt thanks! Start right now!

Remember in Luke 17:11-19 when Jesus healed the 10 lepers? Only "one" came back to Jesus to give Him thanks. The other nine healed by the grace of God were ungrateful. How often do we take our blessings for granted and ignore and neglect the Lord. This is awful! We enjoy the gift but forget the gracious Giver. We are quick to pray, but slow to praise. Sound familiar? An unthankful heart is full of pride and takes all the credit. This is fertile soil for all kinds of sins. How easy it is to complain, but how important it is to give God thanks in good times and bad times.

UNTHANKFULNESS IS A SIGN OF SINFULNESS!

#1 Romans 1:21 "Although they knew God they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened."

#2 2 Timothy 3:1-2 "Know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, UNTHANKFUL, unholy."

WE NEED TO BE THANKFUL!

#1 1 Thess. 5:18 "In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

#2 Col. 2:6-7 "As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith, just as you were taught, AND OVERFLOWING WITH THANKSGIVING."

#3 Phil. 4:6 "Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with THANKSGIVING, let your requests be made known to God."
