With a lineup of 21 memorable productions and presentations entertaining audiences from all corners of the globe, the Guthrie Theater has been a hub of non-stop activity during the past 12 months. As we close the year on yet another high note, with our sold-out run of The 39 Steps and all-new production of our holiday classic A Christmas Carol, we fondly remember Joe Dowling's lean and muscular production of Macbeth, Kneehigh Theatre's bubbly Brief Encounter, David Henry Hwang's stunning M. Butterfly, Rebecca Gilman's deftly fresh Dollhouse, the powerfully provocative Broadway-bound engagement of The Scottsboro Boys, John Miller-Stephany's vivid staging of A Streetcar Named Desire, and the sweeping world premiere of The Master Butchers Singing Club.

We remember our exciting partnerships with London's Tricycle Theatre (which brought its epic theatrical event The Great Game: Afghanistan to Guthrie audiences and played gracious host in London to the Guthrie/Berkeley Repertory production of Tiny Kushner), The Acting Company's Romeo and Juliet and the National Theatre's groundbreaking NT Live series.

The Guthrie also continued to play host to engaging Dowling Studio productions with our regional premiere of Annie Baker's OBIE-winning Circle Mirror Transformation and the Guthrie Experience for Actors in Training collaborative piece, Macondo, in addition to presentations from local companies, including Mu Performing Arts, Theater Latté Da, Producing House, Four Humors Theater, Sandbox Theatre, Lamb Lays with Lion and New Theatre Group.

As the year comes to a close, the Guthrie gives thanks to the remarkable accomplishments of our artists, crew, staff and volunteers, as we prepares to present another busy and bright year of artistically gratifying experiences to audiences in Minneapolis and around the country, fulfilling our promise to be an American center for theater performance, production, education and professional training.
