Eon 500 series: We attended the Melbourne release of Eon's new generation of powered speakers. If the history of JBL and EON tells us anything, this new series is set to be a ripper.

Filmed on location at South Melbourne's Golden Gate Hotel...just a block away from where we start this episode - home at Factory Sound http://www.factorysound.com

Thanks for watching.

  • Anyone knowthe weight difference between the older 15" eon & the new one?

  • G'day DJsli, Eon515 is a bit under 15kg, and Eon15G2 is 21kg. Also the handles are well placed on the new series. Makes for much easier carrying.

  • Can you convert that to pounds for me-I'm in USA-thanks

  • Eon515 is 32.5 lb and Eon15G2 is 46 lb. Make sure you drop in to Factory Sound and share a beer with us next time you come to Australia. Cheers!

  • i love jbl eon !

  • eon convention xD nice -_-

  • i think you would be more impressed with carvin!!! check them out!!!

  • i doubt it,, you really cant beat Hk for sound and build quality and the actor dx has 4 subs so i doubt you will be improving

  • I just recently got one and I'm very happy with the sound and weight of it. Once you get everything adjusted, you can get a nice clean bass out of it. I'm even tested the 500 series sub with the G2 powered sub. Enough bass for me and I do small to large size ball rooms.

  • How good is the bass.. i used to have pair of Hk Actor Dx would the Jbl be better??

  • that Bolt guy is so warm and friendly...

  • I recently went down to guitar center to check these out and i have to say i wasnt impressed. I ended up getting a pair of the QSC HPR122i's. Much better clarity, and the low end of the these jbl's compared to the qsc's ran at full range is incomparable. The QSC's have a lot more thump. They are heavier, but i wont compromise quality over weight.
