Cold stratification removes germination inhibiting chemicals from the seed coats of certain plants which usually undergo a spring thaw. Datura stramonium, inoxia, and metal, (Jimsonweed/ thornapple) as well as valerian, hysoscyamus niger (black henbane) and atropa belladonna (deadly nightshade) all require such treatment for a little less than a week before planting them in order to successfully germinate.

  • I have found an ATROPA BELLADONA yesterday in the mountains

I only have three berries here, now theyre almost dry, they lost their freshness

And I just dont know are they enough for a trip, but I dont think so

I hope I will find such plant again (with more berries), but till then, I must know how to use it

So can anyone share a link or any source of information about this please ?!

  • @DritonGusia Congrats for finding it, although it could be climbing nightshade and you may not recognize it.

It is probably not enough for a trip- I'd plant them instead, as next year you would have a huge harvest of fresh leaves and berries to use.

  • @Styxhexenhammer666 will this work with the itilan cypress seed?

  • Very informative. Thanks man.

  • coo vid, does the cold water method work with acer seeds? i was told to leave the acer seeds in a plastic bag of damp moss in the refrigerator for around 90 days and to be honest im not very patient.

  • OH MY GOD !! what the hell did I get myself into !! I thought gardening was fun but more the research I do, more lost and scared I am.. I wanna scream now !! *tears*

  • mmm datura and brugmansia

  • whats the difference between the effects of datura and henbane? Did you try both of them?

  • have you tried the cup of water method with either maple or apple seeds? did it work?

  • @Styxhexenhammer666 We can use the leaves? Shit I've took 3 leaves but I must have lost em on my way.

I was told that the ingestion of a single leaf could be lethal; while I rad on a book that you can dry em and then smoke em to get stoned.

But what about these three berries, can I plant em? Is it ok that the berries are no longer fresh?
