Turner Prize-winning artist Martin Creed discusses his work with Tim Marlow.

Known for his straightforward approach to making art and his deft economy of means, Creed has produced sculptures, installations, drawings, films, performances, music and text. His work is simultaneously subtle and spectacular, austere and playful -- whether it be a sheet of paper crumpled into a ball, a protrusion from a wall, a door opening and closing, the lights going on and off, or a soundtrack inside a moving lift.

  • he's playing the bafoon. what he's talking about is actually the essential part of art with all the bullshit removed. just an ambivalent awareness of the want to create and communicate without knowing exactly what it is being created or communicated and surrendering to that unkown

  • @incongra well...em...ah...I dont know...well maybe it could be the fact that emm...i don't really know

  • i hate indians so much

  • My favourite work is Work No. 142 -A large piece of furniture partially obstructing a door. Oh how I laughed. No, but really I do like Creed and his art.

  • This man knows something...

  • @chagzuki really, I think he's just clue-full

  • Stunning how embarrassingly clueless this man is.

  • taking a shit doesnt change the becoming of the world. does it seem like a lot of artists seem more profound than they are because they cover up their vague, lazy lack of a philosophy or structure by not saying anything. seems like a nice guy, i wish money could come to me that easily.

  • In the name of sanity, how does this talentless prick manage to persuade people to give him money? - does he hypnotise them or something?
