Old training montage revealing ye olde techniques and methods of training; this is closer to the "real shaolin", some priceless footage in this.

A high level of skill and mastery.

"It is not an idle talk that 'Strength cannot overcome the Pugilistic Art {Quan Shu}, the Pugilistic Art cannot overcome Internal Mastery {Gong Fu}'. The people think that it is enough to exercise the Pugilistic Art {Quan Shu} but few know that the Pugilistic Art can not withstand the Internal Mastery {Gong Fu] as the Pugilistic Art is sprouts of Gong Fu and Gong Fu itself is the base and root of the Pugilistic Art. There are people who exercise only Gong Fu and do not exercise Quan Shu . . . but nobody heard that Quan Shu can be exercised without exercising Gong Fu. Such '''mastery''' is like flying fluff or floating duckweed - too weak base. It is necessary to exercise both Gong Fu and Quan Shu, only in that case there will be a strong base and excellent Mastery." Jin Yi Ming from Yangzhou. The third decade of August, the 19th year of the Chinese Republic (1930). Shanhai, province of Jiangsu.

  • @GuamKomudo ahah yea true man , u never cease to amaze me and this shows how intelligent of you. At least ur the few maybe the ONLY one that understand this lol haha . KK peace bro see you =) yea those monks are trained specifically for performances nothing else, too keep in mind there are shaolin moks that can actally fight.

  • Never said they were unbeatable, just said that there is historical proof they can fight. And the Shaolin Temple is actually in alot of trouble with money. They need money to keep their temples running, if they lose their temple, that will be a HUGE loss of Chinese history and Tradition. There are actually monks that train specifically for Shaolin Promotion and performances. This may seem wrong, but to keep Shaolin alive, money in this day and age, keeps the world go round. Even for Shaolin

  • @GuamKomudo and thats why in 2009 a group of MT guys wanna challenge shaolin coz they say they use the temple as a source of money making strategy . SO yea its like corrupting the name of buddhism. Still some lost some won , in the end its the fighter never the art, saholin or not, no one is undefeatable =) not even shaolin. We are humans we make mistakes even if hes the best. PEace bye =) sorry for spam lol

  • @GuamKomudo try looking at so called "shaolin schols" they seem more wushu shcool than shaolin, these days believe it or not, kungfu/wushu schools, cuse the name "shaolin" so that people would learn, they promise that its real shaolin etc but in the end its bullocs, its just a name that they use, and all the training they teach are all modern wushu never real shaolin training, so be careful when want to join kung fu school. Its more commercialised to b precise.somehow shaolin is kinda corrupted

  • @GuamKomudo peace man see you =)

  • @GuamKomudo even if they cant fight its still pretty hard t odefeat someone that strong. Thoese monks u said about the circus performance, those are just the demo team i guess who cant really fight, lik wushu guys in robes ,just perform nothing else. I heard that warrior monks can hardly go out coz they have alot of choirs and work to do in the temple, i guess those guys can fight ,but the performance ones , 90% they cant really fight. But who knows aye for allwe know they cant fight orviceversa

  • @GuamKomudo shaolin monks no doubt u will notice that, REAL kung fu hardly has any fancy elements in it, if u see those monks that i stated above u will know why, they just train non-fancy deadly shaolin kung fu, prolly those arts they used during wars , protecting themselves against bandist etc. But now its kinda different, most monks just train to perfrom these days, most skip training to just train performance u know that? if u go henan u will know it. Still i respect them for what they cando

  • @GuamKomudo yea true i heard it was developed in a battle field to protect them selves against bandits, wild animals etc. And thats why too the machu emperor was afraid of their strength, thats why he ordered his army to burn down the shaolin templ, coz its deadly. BUt sadly thats then and nows is now, martial arts has lost its essense through time. Still yea of ocurse THERE are real shaolin monks today like for example ,shideyang shi yanlei , shi dejian , thats all i know , these are real

  • Actually there is recorded historical battles in which Shaolin monks participated. In fact idf you look at history, the reason they learned to fight is because their temples often got attacked by bandits looking for gold and treasure at their temples. They can fight, not like the circus acts they do for money for their temples. They will just stab you with a spear... It's like saying "I've never seen a Knight fight in a ring... So Knights obviously can't fight" LOL fail

  • maybe they cant fight maybe they can but one way to know is to put them in a ring or see them spar for all we know they cant fight lol
