You can see it in the video
PAL's other features seem to work. If I try the same thing with Genre or Podcasts, and Play Lists everything works well. And sometimes, i can page through some of the songs, although most of the time it doesn't work there either. I'm using a 4th Generation 160GB iPod Classic and it has about 25,000 songs on it.
Also, it seems to work if I just hit play on the home PAL screen, it does seem to play songs (shuffled--I guess that's normal). I see the name of the song and information about it (even on the HUD which is really spiffy). I can hit play next or back and things seem to work well (although sometimes it seems to randomly bomb and start playing the radio).
My suspicion is that PAL will work ok as long as you don't have too many things in a list. I suspect since I have so many songs on the iPod it times out or something getting the list from the iPod and gets borked up. I haven't tried it yet, but I'll put my iPhone on it, which only has about 1600 songs, and see if that makes a difference.
But even if it does, it seems to be a pretty major limitation if you can't have too big an iPod on the thing. One of the reasons for the purchase was so I could just put my entire library in the car and forget about it.
Has anyone else experienced this or have suggestions on how it might be fixed?
Thanks!
To scroll, you press the Cat button, wait a couple of seconds, and then you start pressing it again to actually scroll.
Can't help with the other issue, since it works fine for me.
