LOL, amazing.
I hate the feeling of wanting an SSD, but just not been able to afford them.

Yeah, but what's your CPU... You need a good cpu wich support many threads like a Core i7.
I've got a Intel Core i7 920, but not a SSD, they are too expensive for me, so I've got two Western Digitals 500GB Caviar Black in Raid 0

@SeanBondWBB How come we got idiot commentators like you on the web? Seriously...
Don't you know what a RAM Cache is?

I have been using the X25MG2 for a while now on Seven. It speeds everything up quite a bit, but if you have some Antivirus stuff running in the background it doesn't speed up that much. Word, etc starts very fast, that's right but matlab still needs about 10sec to start and since the processor is now the bottleneck, the laptop is louder due to the fan noise.

SSD can last over 20years, of course they will slow down over all that time but they will never be slower than a raptor.
-
So i see you been using this SSD for a while now, did you notice any degration in performance?
-
haha, lets see a mac even blow in the same neighborhood!
(I have an SSD Too!)

nice, but does all the programs have to be installed on the SSD disk in order for this to work?
grende 2 years ago
yeah, of course. if the applications are installed on the SSD they start faster, because of the short latency.
