One of my top pics of this week, the talented violinist Sue Son (23 year old student) from Addicted. After the initial performance failed to impress the judges, she is forced to make a difficult decision for the oppurtunity to further her career.

  • Lots of criticisms here on Sue's violin playing.I am a musician and I can certainly tell when she was out of sync and then out of tune on the high note. HOWEVER, the fact is, the only thing matters is how she sells it to the average audience, who by no mean can hear those things (remember on-live you can't hit "play" again). She sells is really well. Her face expression, body movements, confidence, all those together made a lovely performance. Again, she's not playing for her college audition!!!

  • @beirenqi999 and also she was mostly playing only the open g string in the beginning, shifted very little, and most of them could be played in the first and third positions. It's sad how the judges don't understand what talent really is lol. Don't get me wrong, her tone is great and her passion and emotion is genuine.

It's great to finally realize someone UNDERSTANDS. These days, most people don't really know what "talent" is. AND THE FIRST SONG WAS BEAUTIFUL!! SCREW THE JUDGES!!!

  • Whats the name of the music?

  • Dramatic Simon 5:17

  • @MsOugh Imho I too was not very sold to her talent as a violinist (i don't play the violin, just the guitar and piano), I heard what you and beirenqi meant tho during her performance.

Problem is that we need passionate people who might not be virtuozos as such but bring people to something diferent and help to open minds!

She is good but the phrase "one of the best we've ever had" that pierse said is an overstatement. Also i'm sure that with more studies she will show talent!

    Cheers!

  • I have a question guys,

Does any know what is the name of the peace playing in the background after the third minute? please !!

  • @bubsbubsoohlala oh totally, but they are kind of a 2 shot deal though, tough decision. they probably should have talked about it prior

  • @beirenqi999 as a non musician i can tell you that this video was NOT uploaded in HD which i'm disappointed because both violins and pianos sound so good

  • @salasdelacalle escala- finding beauty

  • she was put under alot of pressure, great performance none the less

  • can somebody please tell me what's the name of the song that is playing while she is thinking to come back or not? (starts 3:07) Thank uuu!!

  • Everyone who is pointing out her flaws. As a cellist and I can tell that you're all right in what you say but on a TV show like this people don't necessarily have the same amount of insight in music as we do. Frankly most people wouldn't look into a performance like that.Unlike most classical performances, playing a classical piece on more mainstream stages are more about making it look impressive and selling it, whilst she wasn't playing perfectly she made it look impressive and people liked it.
