It isn't just the psychopathic nature... Marx is a twisted genius! My favorite villains tend to be the ones who have plans that are realized by the end of the game and then they go insane with their power (much like Marx did).

I addressed this in my Kirby 64 playthrough, actually. I do actually believe O2 is in fact Zero in spirit form.
