The video highlights selected imagery from our research on the submerged sinkholes of Lake Huron. Due to the unique karst geology of the Alpena, Michigan area, cracks and sinkhole have formed on the Lake Huron floor which are venting groundwater. Here, flowing groundwater containing high sulfates and low oxygen forms a distinct layer along the lake floor that fuels the growth of microbial mats.

@pudd750 ..h and o eh?
Hydrogen and oxygen, 1 part hydrogen 2 parts oxygen. If there wasn't any "O" or oxygen then it would just be hydrogen which is flammable.

top kool - i have a destination to check out the springs and as much of el cajon bay as i can and not get in trouble -its about 3 hours away- one thing boggles me ,H2O is made of H, and O, but theres no O in the water coming from the ground, so it doesnt want to mix with the oxygenated water of lake Huron--i know certain algae are O2 depletors so fish dont have enough to breathe
