The title of this video states "Stirling engine high efficiency" Since you are consuming real fuel and the result is the spinning of a CD, how can you speak to the efficiency?
It looks to the rest of the world as a total waste of energy in that the real work of keeping a cd spinning is practically nil.

Nice engine ! Have a look on mine please :)

@enticed2zeitgeist The displacer is essential. The displacer moves air from the hot side to the cold side and back. Without the displacer you would have to heat the engine and then cool it down repeatedly and lose a lot of energy.
-
What is the displacers purpose? Is it required? I can't seem to get mine to work.

It would be nice to see an alpha stirling engine made of pop-cans.
-
This is indeed a highly efficient engine. Given that its only function is to entertain and the waste heat may in fact enhance the experience you could say its 100% efficient.

lol the flywheel
-
how do you make these sterling engines?
-
